Rally driver, motorsport marathon man, works Ford driver in the 50s, 60s and
70s
Eric Jackson was a rally driving Ford Dealer from Barnsley who became a legend
of long distance drives during the sixties. In addition to two record drives
between London and Cape Town he also completed a 42 day round the world record
in 1967 and took part in the first London to Sydney Marathon in 1968 during which
he sacrificed a good position when his cylinder head was given to Roger Clark.
1965 they raced the liner RMS Windsor Castle from Cape Town to Southampton.
